Sleep disorders screening programe
Sleep disorders decrease immunity, increase fatigue, and prevents from recuperation after physical and mental workload. Sleep disorders can develop at any age and irrespective of any other factors having impact to health. As a rule, insomnia or sleep drunkenness are typical for elderly people, but nightmares more often occur in children.
Diagnostics of sleep disorders are designed for detection of various disorders: chronic-fatigue build, disturbed sleep-wake cycle and sleep apnea syndrome. Advanced methods allows detailed registration of all changes occurred in the human body during sleep, which contributes to the better understanding of situation with health.
Diagnostics of sleep disorders at Anadolu Medical Center in Turkey comprises a number of procedures carried out in separate sleep disorders center. We carry out polygraphic sleep analyses during whole night:
- EEG – electroencephalography, sensitive method of analysis reflecting the slightest changes in function of cerebral cortex and deep brain structures;
- EOG – electrooculography, method of analysis of oculomotor muscles or functional status of outer retinal layer;
- EMG – electromyography, method of analysis of bioelectric potentials arising in skeletal muscles of the human body.
Moreover, the screening program includes a neurological examination. It completes the general picture of the patient’s health and allows establishing of correct diagnosis.
